The word Awana stands for Approved Workmen Are Not
Ashamed and comes from 2 Timothy 2:15. "Study to show thyself
approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly
dividing the word of truth."
It is a Bible-centered and youth-oriented weekday club
program. Within the context of a club program the children will
participate in songs, "special" games, Scripture memory, and
Bible centered stories.
Our church has clubs in AWANA for boys and girls from
4 year old preschool though 8th grade.

animals motif.

Sparks K - 2nd
Grade
Each Sparks Club meeting is comprised of three main, equal time
segments: Green Meadow time, Sparkie time, and Game time.
Their uniform is an attractive red vest. Sparky, a firefly cartoon
character, appears through-out the material to encourage clubbers to
complete their various achievements.
Sparks club lays an excellent foundation for the next level of
Awana clubs. The Sparks become accustomed to memorizing Bible
verses, passing sections, playing AWANA games, and seriously
considering a portion of God's Word each week.
